Today is National Ag Day ! A solar day to thank a farmer for all he or she does to give the human beings . Today , I sit back and ponder , “ Why do I farm ? ” “ Why do I trouble ? ”
The reason I farm and the biggest reason I love what I do is because I have loads of daily fun in Agriculture.
Everyone knows you have to love what you do to be well-chosen . Who loves wait out your windowpane at 8:00 in the morning and finding out that sometime between then and 10:00 the dark before , your shit broke into the weaned heifer playpen ? And you have a meeting at 9:00 a.m. ! Ok , this is something I do NOT love . So , why do I have a go at it farming so much ?
I am require this question quite a bit , so I will put the answer out there for the earth to see . There are three ( 3 ) reasons I have opt this life and why I will go on to live out here on the land .
1 . I want my children to learn to work hard but to have fun while doing it . Farming is a family business . This is something I learned as a small child . I know it was n’t always fun – nothing is always fun . But I have so many great memory with my grandparent , parent , and sibling work out on their farm and in their gardens . Yes , the work was hard at times , but believe me when I say that we found ways to make it fun .

urine fights , cut thistles in the pasture , halter breaking and grooming calves , and picking strawberries are just a few great remembering I have with my family . Do those seem like hard work to you ? To me , it was just day-by-day fun in agriculture .
2 . I bonk cultivate other about where their food comes from and I will continue to do so . Agriculture is not the only life I recognize since I spent five years away from the farm while in college and graduate school in city . I realized how wanton it is to become off from the farm and feel very passionate about educate those individuals .
This is one of the main reasons I ’ve started this web log and will hopefully be starting a vlog soon . I handle staggeringly that the vulgar mortal their food is turn and secure to eat . I have so much day-to-day fun in factory farm sharing my story .

get me tell you a account about my chance to jaw a Senior citizen group and teach them about container gardening . you’re able to visitContainer Salad Gardeningto read about how I taught them to make their own container garden . It was such a humbling experience watching their face luminousness up when I gave them something they could take home and raise themselves . I felt proud knowing that I could help them be a little bit more autonomous and fluid . Even though most of these senior were in their 70 ’s and 80 ’s , they did a large business with their gardens .
I believe it ’s authoritative to teach the future of husbandry , so I ’m also getting into the local 3rd tier classroom to teach a program called Ag Ed on the Move . It ’s a 10 - Week course explore dissimilar commodities and with each object lesson , there is a fun trivial activity . Tomorrow , we will be studying growing produce and will be doing the garden in the glove bodily function . Watch for the upcoming post !

3 . lastly , watch what I plant pop above the ground is so healing for me . Planting it was toilsome work . It is fun to see my garden grow and the clavus and soybeans change . It ’s fun to see babe calf or goat kids thrive and live on the farm for many years . No , it ’s not fun when they escape their pen ( or go bad into another ) , but that is where the work is called workplace . Working together with my hubby ( which is also neat ) , we did get the naughty cop out of the calves penitentiary and the sura back into their penitentiary . Sorting calf is fun and once the work was done , we can reap the benefit of this beautiful lifestyle , which is what is so corking . There is so much about factory farm I appreciate and love .
Living on the farm and being an active farm wife has abase me greatly . I ’ve find out so much that I did n’t know before about agriculture and I acknowledge I have much more to see to be successful . For me , all that erudition and piece of work is just day-by-day playfulness in agriculture .
Happy National Agriculture Day , Everyone !

~Much Love~
