When secure winds blew the top off an ancient maple tree diagram close to their home in Quebec ’s Eastern Townships , Pat and Norman Webster decided to leave the trunk standing .

Pat , a visual artist , garden writer and speaker system , decide upon a carving for the situation . “ I conceive that representing the history of a situation and the people who inhabit it strengthens an emotional reception and permit citizenry to face deeper into the beauty that smother them . "
Tree Ringsrises up from the primer like the maple itself . Ten laser - cut unsullied steel ring encircle the remaining trunk , with gaps between the rings expose the deeply furrowed bark and wall bracket kingdom Fungi that give the tree diagram its extra quality . ring of different widths suggest how the tree diagram maturate , with full ring in good years , narrow in forged .
