I had never get wind of Vestra Wealth before this year ’s Hampton Court Palace Flower Show and that ’s for one very adept reasonableness – I have no wealth to negociate . Should I come up trumps in the lottery , I would have no hesitancy in beat a way of life to Vestra ’s door , based purely on the strength of their show garden . Decisions like these are probably why I am not a millionaire .
Vestra Wealth do a bonnie degree of prudence in commission show garden veteran Paul Martin to plan their showpiece . The result , a contemporary blank space focussed on outdoor entertaining , was cool , calm and carefully considered ; the sort of space someone in self-will of both money and sense of taste might aim to . I for sure did .
Everything from the cloth to the planting was attractively detail . A smooth cedar rill render water system into a puddle surrounded by hostas and sword lily . The massive board , make from the same timberland , cantilevered over an area thick planted with ferns , Geranium‘Rozanne ’ andLavandula‘Hidcote ’ , delicately veiled byDeschampsia cespitosa .

Ground level airfoil were composed of traditional hoggin , unruffled terrazzo and neatly sawn slate which contrast beautifully . Gabions top off with copper color sheeting or cedar wood were intended to pull wildlife , although how welcome bugs and beasties would have been in this sleek space is debateable .
In a garden so inviolable structurally it would have been easy to oversimplify the planting , but this factor of the design was not plant lack . Paul ’s training at the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin shone through in the spot palette of plants , which focussed on greens , whites and blues .
Paul Martin had understood his client ’s brief , and his node ’s clients ’ well , producing a garden rich in texture , interest and quality without resort to ostentation . I am certain it will have make him some fittingly affluent new customer . As for me , I ’m off to buy a incision card … ..
