It ’s very , very dry here in the Ozarks , and hay is scarce and very expensive . Mom thinks whoever drip Morag and Spike off at Susie ’s probably think they could n’t afford to keep them and since Susie has lots of silken , fat goats , she would take them in . The piffling goats ’ former possessor did n’t realize the big goats might have shoot down Spike and Morag or that Susie could n’t keep them because of her unopen ruck .
