Perennial ornamental grasses are often used for landscape gardening . They are used to designate a tall border , when planted in long rows , or as a specimen plant life when institute in groups or as a single plant . Step 1

Step 2
Choose a calm twenty-four hour period for the check burn of the foliage of the cosmetic grass in early spring just before fresh growth appears . Removing or combust the leafage in the fall is not recommend because the dead foliage is used by the plant to isolate the root word crown from freeze temperature .
Step 3
burn off any semen head or plumes still attached to the cosmetic grass you are burning with a handheld pruning twist . The plumes are very flammable and the cinders from the burn plumage can travel a long distance . A pair of leather work baseball mitt will keep your hands from being damaged by the sharp leaves characteristic of many ornamental grasses .
Step 4
Spray body of water on the ground and surround plant to a distance of 15 to 20 foot around the cosmetic grass you are burning . Be aware of any construction , container , fencing , dry Natalie Wood and other flammable object in your landscape , or your neighbour ' , that might be bear upon by a large fervidness . A firing from a matured pampas grass industrial plant can get through 20 foot high in a matter of arcsecond , so be prepare . Step 5
