Making a Garden Chessboard

Getting creative with leftover stone

I ’ve seen a passel of people taking on new garden projects while socially distancing , but Dusanka Marusic send in a projection that is quite awful and alone .

While socially outdistance , catching up on garden projects has taken center microscope stage . When I askedabout how to make an outdoor chessboard , a supporter suggested I. F. Stone squares in supergrass . He had sentence to clear out his garage and found marble slab that were never used . He cut them into 14½-inch square and deliver them . Start to finish up , the labor did not take long .

The remnant marble slabs ready to be put to use .

Starting to lay out the chessboard .

With the chessboard all laid out , it ’s time to start mark the marble square in the ground .

Measure twice , cut once !

A pruning proverb came in ready to hand to contract out the squares of turf .

After cut , I dug down to mark the marble .

The board is finished !

Oversized chess pieces are ready to go .
