One casual vacancy was ratified , and two grower chemical group elected position were fill at the Grower Group Alliance ’s ( GGA ) Annual General Meeting ( AGM ) on September 22 , 2023 . South East Premium Wheat Growers Association ’s ( SEPWA ) Marie Fowler and Facey Group ’s Audrey Bird were voted in by members to fill two Member Director vacancy on the GGA Board .
Chris Wyhoon from WA Regenerative Livestock Producers ( WARLP ) was also sign by members to continue process on the Board until the AGM in 2024 , following his casual appointment to a Member Director vacancy in March this year . GGA Chair Peter Roberts said he was beyond proud of with the calibre of experience joining the GGA board .

Inaugural Life Member , former Chair , and current Vice Chair of Facey Group Audrey Bird bring extensive governance experience to the GGA Board , having process for 12 years on the Facey Group Board .
Audrey has also held position with the West Australian Livestock Council ( 2018 - 2022 ) , Meat and Livestock Association ’s ( MLA ) Producer Adoption Reference Group ( 2018 – 2022 ) and serve for five year on the West Australian No - Till Farmer Association ’s Committee . Ms Bird said she was very excited to have been vote onto the GGA board . “ I look forward to contribute and work up on the impressive body of work that the GGA is doing to ensure that it lend note value not only to grower group but to farmers who make up the alliance , ” she said . join her for the two - year term , the Director of her phratry ’s motley land enterprise east of Esperance , Marie Fowler is an active member of SEPWA and moderate the Ladies Committee for several years . She also served on the SEPWA Executive during a time of strategical review , which lead to change to support the continued work of the group ’s research , development , and extension . Marie holds an Honours academic degree in Agriculture and , prior to moving to Australia , work with the UK Farmers Union , developing policy and lobbying in Brussels . Ms Fowler said she was delighted to have been elect to the display panel of GGA and search forward to provide direction and oversight as a board fellow member .
“ I think the chance for cognition sharing and collaboration in research and annexe between agriculturist group members of GGA adds to the strength of the agricultural industry in WA , ” she say . Member Director Chris Wyhoon was nominate by WARLP follow the GGA Board ’s call for expressions of interest from voting groups after one billet remained unfilled at the September 2022 AGM . Mr Wyhoon said he was humble to have been ratified as a Director by the GGA rank for another class .
“ It is a very professional Board , with eminent - level skills in governance , scheme , and risk direction – and with lots of challenge ahead in 2024 , I await forward to being part of a skilled radical that will help take the GGA to the next level , ” he said .
