My abode is always a sanctuary , whether I ’m returning from work or working at household . I ’m so happy that last fall at theAntique Rose EmporiumI grabbed a small ‘ Aladdin Sky Blue ’ petunia , now cascade down with sweet perfume that even make gathering junk ads from the letter box delightful . Last fall I succumbed to the romance of cyclamen . I ’m so glad I choose the warm wan pink for a lucky container duet . Summer ’s heat will terminate the magic , but I ’m have it away it for now . Despite social distancing , spring carry on as usual , where combat-ready bees keep an unlimited food supplying in my garden . Iris ‘ Nada ’ invited bees to scurry in . Its evergreen , strappy soft leaves bring structure to part shade , so I appreciate this easily - divided passalong that spreads its wealth through rootstalk . Paired with Mexican honeysuckle , it clear up up this little patch that ’s hum with pollinator . Bees did n’t ignore lavender - hued Iris japonica ‘ Eco Easter ’ , which indeed reminds me of the people of color of dyed Easter eggs . keep to that easy color scheme , aboriginal wildflower Texas sister bluish eyes live my shady areas with splendid abandon , eagerly visit by bee . Oxalis is n’t aboriginal , and some consider it a weed , but I do not . Neither do bees oblivious to our perceptions . If blossom assure a repast , that ’s all that matters to them . Oxalis offer freehanded food without traveling far . works pathogens open apace in the garden , peculiarly during these cool , humid day . I do n’t trouble with fungicide for ephemeral like powdery mould . Others , like cotton source rot , are lasting . This week , Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Viticulture Program SpecialistBrianna Crowleybreaks down pathogens and excuse how they pretend our plants . And trip with us well-nigh to Brenhamwhere we visited A&M prof and Extension Horticulturist Bill Welch and his wife Lucille last leap . Their reestablish architecture and grazing land unites preservation — preceding , present , and time to come . Thanks for stopping by ! Linda
